Job summary

YKK AP America Inc. in Macon, GA is seeking a 1st shift lead manufacturing role to oversee daily production and ensure adherence to 5S and quality standards.

Responsibilities include supervising entry level staff, following supervisor directions, auditing product quality, and driving safety and efficiency across the line. The role requires at least three years in manufacturing with leadership exposure, and offers opportunities for training and advancement within a values-driven organization.

Qualifications

• Must have at least three years of manufacturing experience preferably in a fabrication or production environment with at least 6 months in a leadership role
• Be vigilant about safety
• Quality - conscious, oriented to excellence

Responsibilities

• Follows specific requirements of a particular job order
• Fabricates according to daily production requirements
• Communicates and instructs entry level employees in various phases
• Follows specific directions from the department supervisor and see that these directions are carried out
• Make sure area is kept organized and 5S procedures and policies are followed
• Partner with department manager in the absence of the supervisor
• Audit completed product to assure it meets order requirements and YKK quality standards
• Communicate non-conforming product issue to department personnel
• Analyze and resolve work problems or assists worker in solving work problems
• Initiate or suggest plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals
• Set up machines and equipment
• Perform activities of workers in department
• Keep work area neat and clean
• Additional duties may be assigned as needed for business purposes
