RDO Equipment Co. in Texas is seeking a Lead Technician to serve as an inshop technical resource supporting the service team. You will lead diagnostics, perform advanced repairs, and mentor other technicians to uphold high quality and safety standards.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a technical leader: primary inshop expert and escalation point for complex diagnostics, repairs, and troubleshooting.
  • Stay hands on: perform advanced mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel diagnostics and repairs, while remaining billable.
  • Support and mentor technicians with guidance and informal mentorship to develop skills and repair consistency.
  • Promote quality and safety by reinforcing proper diagnostics, repair procedures, documentation and safety standards.

What You Will Do:
  • Serve as a technical leader: act as the primary inshop expert and escalation point for complex diagnostics, repairs, and troubleshooting.
  • Stay handson: perform advanced mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel diagnostics and repairs, with expectations to remain actively engaged in billable work.
  • Support and mentor technicians: provide technical guidance, coaching, and informal mentorship to help develop skills and promote repair consistency.
  • Promote quality and safety: help prevent rework and comebacks by reinforcing proper diagnostics, repair procedures, documentation and safety standards.

What You Will Need:
  • Advanced technical experience: strong diagnostic and repair skills across mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and diesel systems.
  • Demonstrated technical leadership: ability to guide and support other technicians without direct supervisory responsibility.
  • Strong communication skills: clear, professional written and verbal communication.
  • Attention to detail: commitment to repair quality, safety, and documentation standards.
  • Computer proficiency: comfortable using diagnostic software and service systems.
  • Valid work authorization: candidates must have valid work authorization and be able to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship.
