Job summary

Johnston Environmental in Charlotte, NC seeks a Lead Technician to oversee restoration projects on-site. Qualifications

• Hands-on restoration and mitigation experience, including water damage, fire and smoke cleanup, and mold remediation.
• Knowledge of environmental cleaning, demolition, and rebuild/restoration processes.
• Lead crews on-site, delegate tasks, and train technicians on proper techniques and safety.
• Strong communication and customer service; explain work to owners and partners.
• Experience with documenting jobs: photos, notes, and digital job management tools.
• Understanding of safety regs, PPE, and industry standards and protocols.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation; work on-site across Greater Charlotte.
• Willingness to work flexible hours including evenings/weekends for emergencies.
• Physical ability for field work: lift/carry equipment; varied environments.
• Relevant certifications (IICRC in Water Damage Restoration, Fire & Smoke Restoration, Mold Remediation) preferred.
• Prior experience in restoration, construction, environmental services, or related field beneficial.

Role Description

The Lead Technician role is a full-time, on-site position based in Charlotte, NC. The Lead Technician coordinates job scopes, directs and supports field technicians, ensures proper use of equipment and safety protocols, and documents all work performed through photos, notes, and job reports.
