About the job:

Google's projects, like our users, span the globe and require managers to keep the big picture in focus while being able to dive into the unique engineering challenges we face daily. As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you lead complex, multi-disciplinary engineering projects using your engineering expertise. You plan requirements with internal customers and usher projects through the entire project lifecycle. This includes managing project schedules, identifying risks and clearly communicating them to project stakeholders. You're equally at home explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical trade-offs in product development with engineers.

Using your extensive technical and leadership expertise, you manage various Engineering-specific programs and teams.

The Fiber Infrastructure Engineering and Delivery Team, a unified organization within Google Global Infrastructure (GGI), operates at the intersection of technology and immense scale. Our mission is to build the resilient long-haul fiber assets and data center network spaces that power Google's global growth and AI leadership.

As a Lead Technical Program Manager, you will serve as a strategy driver and industry expert overseeing all Adds, Moves, and Changes across Google's global data center footprint. You will manage a comprehensive technical portfolio encompassing Outside Plant (OSP), Inside Plant (ISP), and New Product Initiatives (NPI). By navigating a complex ecosystem of internal and external stakeholders, you will translate physical network demands into executable building and fiber designs. You will be a versatile leader, equally adept at presenting strategic analyses to executives, discussing technical trade-offs with deployment engineers and contractors, ensuring Google’s network infrastructure remains the most reliable and efficient on the planet.
