Job summary

GitLab is seeking an experienced Sr Manager, Technical Program Management to lead a team of TPMs within our Engineering org. This role helps build a new R&D PMO, align TPMs to high-priority programs, and deliver customer outcomes.

You will partner with Product and Engineering leadership to shape planning cadences and ways of working. You will drive staffing decisions, define program mgmt standards, and mentor TPMs to grow their capabilities as leaders.

Qualifications

• Experience leading a TPM/PMO team and managing senior staff.
• Proven ability to align TPM work with product and engineering goals.
• Strong stakeholder management across security, product, and GTM.
• Ability to drive cross-functional, product-driven initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of Technical Program Managers.
• Staffing and resource alignment for the PMO with leadership.
• Define and improve program management standards and processes.
• Develop long-term strategy for the TPM function and hiring goals.
• Build relationships with Engineering, Product, Security, and GTM teams.
• Identify and mitigate risks to ensure timely program delivery.
• Set KPIs and hold the team accountable for commitments.
• Guide strategic staffing decisions and project timelines.
