Job summary

Chico’s in Fort Myers is seeking a Senior Technical Designer to ensure brand quality, fit, and construction standards across assigned product areas. You will lead a team of technical designers, drive tech packs from development to production, and collaborate with designers, merchants, and vendors to elevate garment quality.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in fashion design or related field and 7+ years in apparel with patternmaking expertise.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design or related field.
7+ years’ apparel industry experience including patternmaking.
Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
Deep understanding of fit, balance, pattern, and garment construction.
Proficient with PLM and design tools.

Responsibilities

Leads weekly fit sessions with designers and merchants.
Provides technical direction on specs, pattern, construction methods to improve fit and quality.
Maintains fit consistency and applies standard grade rules.
Executes tech packs from Development to PP for assigned departments.
Ensures Product Lifecycle Calendar dates are met for Development and Fit Approvals.
Anticipates and resolves problems in the fit process with vendors as needed.
Attends weekly cross-functional team meetings to raise issues.
Collaborates with Technical Design leaders to evolve processes and elevate product quality.
May train new associates in technical design responsibilities and processes.
May coach team members and implement process improvements.
Partners with vendors to resolve issues and maintain standards and timelines.
