Job summary

Chico’s FAS, Inc. is seeking a Senior Technical Designer to ensure brand quality fit, appearance, and construction for assigned product areas. You may lead a team of Technical Designers and collaborate with design, merchandising, and vendors to elevate product quality.

Responsibilities include leading weekly fit sessions, executing tech packs from development to PP, maintaining fit consistency, meeting calendars, and mentoring teammates. Requires 7+ years in apparel and a fashion design degree.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required; Fashion Design a plus
• 7+ years’ experience in apparel industry including patternmaking and production timeline knowledge
• Detail oriented with strong communication, organizational and problem-solving skills
• Understanding of garment manufacturing processes and fit, balance, construction, fabrics and performance
• Excellent written and verbal communication and time management
• Effective team-building and leadership abilities
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite, FLEX PLM or similar
• Knowledge of pattern software (2D/3D, Optitex, CLO, Brozwear)

Responsibilities

• Leads weekly fit sessions and collaborates with designers and merchants to translate fit and aesthetic details
• Provides technical direction on specs, pattern, construction methods to improve fit and quality
• Maintains fit consistency and applies standard grade rules
• Executes tech packs from Development to PP for assigned departments
• Ensures Product Lifecycle Calendar dates are met for Development and Garment Fit Approvals
• Works with vendors to resolve fit/production issues
• Attends cross-functional meetings to address vendor, quality, and timeline concerns
• Mentors and potentially trains new associates in technical design processes
• Leads team by communicating expectations and empowering members
