Job summary

Babcock & Wilcox is seeking a Technical Designer IV to lead technical design work on a project, coordinating with engineering, PM, and shop personnel. You will translate requirements into CAD drawings, verify tolerances and standards, and guide a design team to meet schedules and budgets.

The role involves developing material requirements, assisting procurement, and traveling for reviews and field measurements on a global scale.

Qualifications

2-year associates or technical degree in drafting/design.
8+ years experience preferred in technical design or related field.
Proficiency in applying company and industry standards.
SolidWorks or other 3D CAD packages preferred.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Demonstrates critical thinking and time management abilities.

Responsibilities

Lead technical design work for a contract or project and coordinate with engineering and PM teams.
Prepare 2D/3D drawings, models, and assembly details using CAD tools.
Verify drawings for dimensions, tolerances, and compliance with standards.
Develop material requirements and support procurement for parts.
Review schedules, attend status meetings, and assist team as needed.
Travel domestically and internationally for reviews and field measurements.
