Job summary

A financial services company in Washington, DC is seeking a Manager for Technical Accounting and SEC Reporting. This role is responsible for overseeing complex accounting matters to ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and SEC regulations. Key responsibilities include leading the preparation of SEC filings, managing internal controls, and collaborating with cross-functional teams. Candidates should have over 5 years of relevant accounting experience, a Bachelor's in Accounting or Finance, and preferably a CPA designation.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including public accounting and/or SEC reporting.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and SEC regulations.
• Experience in a leadership or supervisory role preferred.

Responsibilities

• Research and interpret U.S. GAAP and SEC guidance for complex transactions.
• Prepare technical accounting memos and present findings.
• Lead preparation and review of SEC filings like Forms 10-K, 10-Q, and 8‑K.
• Support SOX compliance efforts related to financial reporting.
