Job summary

Becton, Dickinson, and Company in El Paso, Texas, seeks an engineer to improve high-speed automated manufacturing equipment. You will troubleshoot, program, and optimize systems using Rockwell, Siemens, Cognex, and other technologies, supporting CAPA and safety.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Hands-on development improvements to high-speed automated equipment for medical device manufacturing.
  • Troubleshooting and maintenance of high-speed automated equipment.
  • Program and troubleshoot to improve performance using Rockwell, Siemens, Cognex and related technologies.
  • Follow safety procedures and communicate adjustments for safety concerns.
  • Collaborate with BD production, engineering, quality and maintenance teams.

Job Description Responsibilities
  • Hands-on development improvements to high-speed automated equipment for the manufacturing of medical devices.
  • Performs troubleshooting and maintenance of high-speed automated equipment.
  • Use technical knowledge and experience in programming and troubleshooting to resolve issues and to improve the performance of the automated machines based on the following technologies: Robots: FANUC, ABB, Epson and Stäubli (strong experience with pick and place applications) Strong knowledge in Rockwell Automation Software: Studio 5000 (RSLogix 5000), Factory Talk Machine Edition/Site Edition, etc. Strong knowledge in Siemens Automation Software: Step 7, Tia Portal, Winn CC etc. Strong knowledge in Servo Motion Controls System as Kinetix Servo drives, Sinamics or similar Advanced process control as Fuzzy Logix, Profibus, ProfiNet networks, PID Function and Functional Charts Language, Ethernet-IP / TCP-IP Networks. Strong knowledge in development and programming of Vision Systems such as Cognex (Insight 5000, 2000, micro, Keyence CVX, IV, Banner). Extensive experience in ultrasonic welding, InkJet printers (Domino, Lynx, Markem Image, Keyence). Experience in thermos transfer printers, flexographic printers and digital printers. Product and parts identification including RFID and Barcoding (software, printers, and readers). Strong knowledge in pneumatics and electropneumatic, mechanical knowledge, electronics.
  • Follow all safety procedures and identify/communicate the necessary adjustments to address potential safety concerns, including the proper use of PPE (Personal Protection Equipment).
  • Work with BD production, engineering, quality, and maintenance teams to ensure that goals are met.
  • Maintain primary communication of performance goals and requirements identified by management.
  • Support CAPA activities as required (Corrective and Preventive Actions) to address systemic issues in the manufacturing and quality systems.
  • Ability to work on flexible schedule, with the possibility to cover other shifts and overtime as needed.
Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree is required (degree in Mechatronics, Mechanical, Electronic Engineering or any related field is desired).
  • At least 3-5 years of manufacturing experience (preferably in a highly automated environment).
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish highly desired ** Possible Visa Sponsorship Available
