Southeast Orthopedic Specialists in Jacksonville, FL is seeking a Team Care Coordinator/Lead Medical Scribe to serve as the central contact for patients and the healthcare team, ensuring seamless care delivery and accurate documentation.

The role supports providers with administrative and clinical tasks, guides patients through their care journey, coordinates scheduling, and assists with in-office procedures; CMA certification or healthcare coursework is a plus.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; CMA certification or healthcare coursework a plus.
  • Strong typing, organization, and computer proficiency essential.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities; ability to maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities

  • Document patient visits accurately, including history, procedures, exams, and provider plans.
  • Assist with in-office procedures (injections, aspirations, suture removal).
  • Complete disability/FMLA paperwork and call in prescriptions/refills.
  • Schedule appointments and procedures; triage patient calls.
  • Coordinate with WC adjusters, home health agencies, and nurse case managers.
  • Manage provider schedules and submit/renew physical therapy orders.

As Southeast Orthopedic Specialists continues to grow, we are seeking a Team Care Coordinator to be the central point of contact for patients, providers, and the healthcare team. General Summary
  • Serve as the primary liaison between patients, providers, and the healthcare team to ensure smooth care delivery.
  • Guide patients through their healthcare journey, helping them understand conditions, medications, and provider instructions.
  • Support providers by handling administrative and clinical tasks that allow more face-to-face patient care.

  • Typing speed of 40+ WPM; ability to work independently while supporting team efficiency.
