Lead Teaching Assistant (Internal Applicants Only) The Langan School (a program of the Center for Disability Services) is a private, non-profit school for students with severe disabilities between the ages of 5 and 21. This is a 10 month program, with a mandatory six week summer program
The Lead Teaching Assistant helps the teacher and therapists with activities designed to address goals as outlined in the students’ IEPs. The duties may include, but are not limited to; leading a classroom in the teacher’s absence, entering IEP Direct data, daily classroom preparation, as well as all other Teaching Assistant responsibilities.
Education Required High School diploma or equivalent
Specialized training, license, certification, skills Current New York State Teaching Assistant Certification
Experience Required At least 2 years of job related experience, specifically in working with children or individuals with disabilities
