Job summary

The Center for Disability Services is seeking Teaching Assistants to support classroom instruction and student needs in alignment with IEPs. Responsibilities include preparing materials, assisting with direct instruction, and providing custodial care as needed.

Applicants must have a High School Diploma or GED, 18+ years old, willing to obtain NYS Teaching Assistant Certification, and may have college credits.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; college credits preferred.
• Must obtain NYS Teaching Assistant Certification.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Assist the teacher with activities designed to address student’s needs as outlined on their IEPs.
• Duties may include preparing classroom materials, direct instruction of students, and custodial care of students.
