Job summary

Dramatic Education, Inc. is seeking a Lead Teaching Artist Assistant to support 21st CCLC before-school, after-school and summer programs at Forsyth Woods Elementary.

The role emphasizes literacy, math and S.T.R.E.A.M.-based activities with small-group instruction and positive behavior support. Responsibilities include tutoring, classroom management, attendance tracking, collaboration with teachers, and ensuring a safe, inclusive learning environment while meeting grant goals and program quality

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma required; Associate’s degree or higher in education or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience working with children in an educational or childcare setting.
  • Demonstrated classroom management skills and ability to work effectively with students in grades K–8.
  • CPR and First Aid Certification preferred or willingness to obtain.
  • Ability to successfully complete a Level 2 background check and drug screening.
  • Candidates must be dependable, organized, and detail-oriented, with reliable transportation.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team in a fast-paced, student-centered environment.

Responsibilities

  • The Teaching Artist Assistant supports the delivery of academic and enrichment programming aligned with 21st CCLC goals, including literacy, mathematics, and S.T.R.E.A.M.-based activities.
  • The Teaching Artist Assistant provides small group instruction, tutoring, and homework assistance to reinforce school-day learning and improve student outcomes.
  • The Teaching Artist Assistant assists with classroom management to maintain a safe, structured, and inclusive learning environment for all students.
  • The Teaching Artist Assistant supervises students during transitions, meals, and program activities, ensuring safety, compliance, and appropriate behavior at all times.
  • The Teaching Artist Assistant collaborates with program staff and school-day teachers to align enrichment activities with identified student needs and academic priorities.
  • The Teaching Artist Assistant supports project-based learning, arts integration, cultural enrichment, and youth development activities that increase student engagement.
  • The Teaching Artist Assistant assists with attendance tracking, data collection, and reporting to support program accountability and grant compliance.
  • The Teaching Artist Assistant builds positive relationships with students to support consistent attendance, engagement, and social-emotional growth.
  • The Teaching Artist Assistant participates in required training, staff meetings, and ongoing professional development to support program quality and effectiveness.
