Job summary

The Goddard School located in Derry, NH, seeks a passionate Lead Teacher who puts students first. You will implement an engaging, developmentally appropriate curriculum using our Wonder of Learning program, lead daily activities, and collaborate with a supportive team to nurture young minds.

Requirements include a high school diploma (associate or bachelor’s in Early Childhood Education preferred) and CDA preferred, with 1–2 years of experience in licensed childcare.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; associate's or bachelor's in Early Childhood Education preferred.
• CDA preferred
• 1–2 years of experience with young children in a licensed childcare or preschool setting preferred.
• Has completed state-required pre-service training
• Develops relationships and communicates effectively with children, families and faculty members
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. in connection with handling of children

Responsibilities

• Curriculum and Instruction: Implement age-appropriate lesson plans using Wonder of Learning curriculum.
• Classroom Management: Create a safe, nurturing, inclusive classroom environment.
• Family Communication: Maintain open, effective communication with families and guardians.
• Health and Safety: Supervise children to uphold health, safety standards and licensing regulations.
• Professional Development: Participate in ongoing professional development and training.
• Assessment and Documentation: Observe and document children’s learning to inform activities.
• Team Collaboration: Support Assistant Teachers and Resource Teachers.
• Behavior Guidance: Model positive guidance strategies for social-emotional growth.
