Job summary

The Goddard School of Shelton, CT is seeking a passionate Lead Teacher to deliver a developmentally appropriate curriculum using our Wonder of Learning program. Lead daily activities, foster a nurturing environment, and collaborate with a supportive team to inspire young minds.

Requirements include a high school diploma (associate or bachelor’s in Early Childhood Education preferred) and CDA preferred; 1–2 years of licensed childcare experience; state pre-service training completed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Associate/Bachelor in Early Childhood Education preferred.
• CDA preferred.
• 1-2 years of experience with young children in licensed childcare or preschool setting preferred.
• Has completed state-required pre-service training.

Responsibilities

• Curriculum and Instruction: Implement age-appropriate lesson plans using our Wonder of Learning curriculum.
• Classroom Management: Create a safe, nurturing, inclusive classroom environment.
• Family Communication: Maintain open communication with families about child’s progress.
• Health and Safety: Supervise children to uphold health and safety standards and licensing regulations.
• Professional Development: Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities.
• Assessment and Documentation: Observe and document children’s learning to share insights with families.
• Team Collaboration: Support Assistant Teachers and Resource Teachers.
• Behavior Guidance: Model positive guidance strategies for social-emotional growth.
