Candidate Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have 12 ECE qualified units. We consider applicants with some ECE classes who are willing to enroll in additional classes to complete their qualification. We are committed to supporting our employees in obtaining the necessary ECE units. For infant/toddler teachers, at least 3 units in infant/toddler care are required.

For assistant teachers, no ECE classes are required, but a willingness to take the necessary courses is essential. We are happy to assist in this process.

We are open to training candidates without experience who are a good fit for the role.

Responsibilities

• Daily planning, management, and supervision of the classroom and children, often assisted by another qualified teacher or assistant.
• Addressing concerns of parents, children, and staff appropriately.
• Maintaining the appearance, cleanliness, and safety of the classroom environment.
• Counseling children on social, academic, or adjustment issues.
• Preparing and implementing lesson plans, programs, and schedules.
• Developing instructional aids and materials for activities.
• Assisting children during meal times and clean-up.
• Ensuring all equipment is in good condition and properly used and maintained.
• Organizing the classroom into interest areas and directing staff activities to ensure smooth functioning.
• Communicating relevant information to parents.
• Completing necessary paperwork, such as daily notes, accident reports, attendance, and feeding/sleeping charts.
• Maintaining family information and classroom bulletin boards.
• Meeting state requirements, including a medical exam/physical, background check, and the ability to lift at least 40 pounds regularly.
