Berea College's Child Development Laboratory (CDL) is seeking a Lead Teacher to facilitate child-led, inquiry-based learning and to observe, document, and plan emergent curriculum based on children's interests.

You will mentor assistants, collaborate with a teaching team, maintain a safe, respectful space, and communicate with families while engaging in professional development and college research projects.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field required.
• Two years related experience in childcare or early childhood classroom.
• Knowledge of child development and emergent curriculum.
• Ability to lead a teaching team and communicate with families.

Responsabilidades

• Model ethical best practices in early childhood education.
• Engage with children in intentional, meaningful interactions.
• Observe and document play, develop emergent curriculum.
• Maintain a safe, stimulating learning environment.
• Plan daily activities and supervise classroom staff.
• Communicate with families and engage them in curriculum decisions.
• Participate in conferences, trainings, and professional development.
