Job summary

Berea College Child Development Lab seeks a Teacher Aide to assist the Lead and Assistant Teachers in maintaining a safe, stimulating environment for young children. You will collaborate with families, college students and staff while adhering to CDL policies and Kentucky childcare regulations.

Requirements include a High School Diploma or GED, plus a CDA credential preferred. At least one year of related childcare experience is preferred, with strong communication and teamwork skills emphasized

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• CDA Credential preferred.
• At least one year of related childcare experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Organize and maintain a safe, stimulating learning environment with collaboration from teachers and students.
• Work collaboratively with families, teachers, labor students and college students.
• Practice open, respectful communication with children, families, coworkers, and supervisors.
• Utilize positive guidance strategies and best practices.
• Record attendance and incidents per licensing regulations and CDL policies.
• Maintain confidentiality per NAEYC code of ethics.
• Perform housekeeping tasks in classroom and shared spaces as needed.
• Attend conferences, trainings and staff meetings as required.
• Support College in achieving its goals and a positive learning environment.
