Job summary

Educare of Omaha, Inc. invites applications for Certified Lead Teacher (Early Head Start) in Omaha, NE.

This full-time role supports a developmentally-appropriate education program across 40 hours per week, Monday–Friday, within the Gateway Early Learning Center. The Lead Teacher will observe and document child progress, plan individualized lesson plans, coordinate referrals, and collaborate with IDT and families to foster school readiness for ages 0–5.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in education is required.
• Active Nebraska teaching certificate is required.
• CDA certification will be required unless 18 hours of Early Childhood Education coursework has been taken.

Responsibilities

• Plan, implement, and coordinate a comprehensive education program.
• Develop developmentally appropriate lesson plans and activities.
• Observe, assess, and document each child’s progress.
• Coordinate referrals for children with special needs or mental health needs.
• Engage with families and schedule parent conferences and home visits.
• Supervise and mentor classroom staff and volunteers.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and engaging classroom environment.
• Ensure compliance with Head Start/Early Head Start and Nebraska licensing standards.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in education

Nebraska teaching certificate

CDA certification (required unless 18 hours ECE completed)
