Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or related field and one year of preschool teaching experience.
• Ability to write lesson plans and organize a preschool classroom.
• Ability to work with children, parents and other stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement caregiving and teaching practices that align with CYCs philosophy.
• Plan for an assets-based classroom environment and use appropriate instructional methods reflecting children's learning styles.
• Conduct assessment of student learning and use results to design instructional activities.
• Work cooperatively with CYC staff and COE to develop play-based, emergent, and inquiry-based curriculum.
• Develop CYC program guidelines with other staff members.
• Plan and supervise assignments of teacher aides and volunteers.
• Establish and maintain open communication by conferences with parents, director, supervisors and teachers.
• Facilitate and participate in IRB-approved research studies with faculty and graduate students.
• Support the mission of the CYC through curriculum, pedagogy, and daily practices.
