Job summary

The University of North Texas System seeks a Child Development Lab Teacher (Lead Teacher CYC) at the UNT Center for Young Children in Denton. This full-time role develops curriculum, prepares lesson plans, teaches, and consults with parents while observing and assessing children's behavior.

The position recruits and supervises student teachers, communicates openly with families, and participates in research projects with COE faculty.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or related preschool field.
• At least one year of early childhood program teaching experience.
• Ability to write lesson plans and organize a preschool classroom.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement caregiving and teaching practices aligned with CYCs philosophy.
• Plan an asset-based classroom reflecting children's learning styles and experiences.
• Assess student learning and use results to design activities.
• Collaborate with CYС staff and COE to develop play-based curriculum.
• Develop CYC program guidelines with staff.
• Supervise teacher aides and volunteers.
• Communicate with parents and other stakeholders through conferences.
• Support IRB approved research with faculty and graduate students.
• Support the CYC mission in daily operations.
