Job summary

LifeWise Academy is seeking a Lead Teacher to support the program director in hiring, training, and managing LifeWise teachers. The role emphasizes curriculum planning, teacher training, and maintaining class records while fostering a strong faith-based school environment.

Responsibilities include organizing annual teacher training, leading meetings, observing teachers, and coordinating with volunteers. Part-time, non-exempt hourly position with on-site work in Kentucky.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years of classroom teaching experience in a school or church setting.

Responsibilities

• Plan Curriculum: decide which LifeWise lessons to teach each school year; ensure consistency in expectations, procedures, curriculum, and LifeWise mission; provide teachers with curriculum and supplemental materials.
• Train and Observe Teachers: organize a teacher training day; lead regular meetings; assist in observing teachers; participate in trainings and LifeWise Summit.
• Create and Maintain Records: create class schedules; maintain rosters including health concerns and special needs; help develop program policies and procedures.
• Communicate: represent LifeWise teachers at Leadership Board meetings; visit classes; coordinate with volunteers; submit updates and photos to program director.
• Other Duties: assist program director in other responsibilities as needed.
