Early Steps Learning Center in Ohio is hiring a full-time Lead Teacher to create a safe, engaging classroom and support children’s growth while leading a team of assistant teachers.

You will plan age-appropriate lessons aligned with Ohio standards, observe development, and build strong relationships with families. This role emphasizes licensing compliance, routines, and a positive classroom climate in a Gold-rated program. Benefits include health insurance, 401(k), and PTO.

Qualifications

• Must meet Ohio ODJFS Lead Teacher requirements (CPL Level 2 or higher).
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a licensed childcare setting.
• Strong leadership, communication, and classroom management skills.
• Passion for working with children and supporting their development.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain a safe, nurturing, and engaging classroom environment.
• Plan and implement age-appropriate lesson plans aligned with Ohio Early Learning & Development Standards.
• Lead and support assistant teachers, providing guidance and direction.

Key Responsibilities

Certifications & Training

• CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire)
• Completion of all required state and center trainingMust pass background check and licensing requirements

Physical Requirements

• Ability to actively engage with children throughout the day
• Lift, carry, and assist children as needed
• Sit, stand, bend, and move frequently
• Maintain energy and attentiveness in a fast-paced environment

Schedule & Compensation

• Full-time position
• Pay: $17.00 – $19.00 per hour (based on experience and credentials )
