Job summary

Gingerbread Littleversity in Fuquay-Varina, NC is seeking a Lead Teacher to support preschoolers with developmentally appropriate activities. Qualifications include a high school diploma and the ability to pass background checks; an associate's or bachelor's degree in early childhood education or 12 ECE credits are preferred.

Typical shift is Monday–Friday, 7:30am–4:30pm, with compensation of $17–$19 per hour based on education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepare developmentally appropriate weekly lesson plans.
• Implement weekly lesson plans covering all areas of child development.

• Ensure safety, cleanliness, and organization of the classroom.
• Maintain child assessments and portfolios; conduct biannual conferences in Nov and May.
• Assist daily classroom care and activities.

Gingerbread Littleversity is a licensed childcare center seeking Lead Teachers to support the following age groups:

• Preschool

To be QUALIFIED for the Lead Teacher opportunity, we require a high school diploma and the ability to pass all background checks. We also require an associate's or a bachelor's degree in early childhood education or a completed associate's or bachelor\u2019s degree with at least 12 credits of early childhood education or their equivalent. A plus if you have previous childcare experience!

Required Shift: Monday - Friday, 7:30am-4:30pm

Compensation: $17-$19 per hour, based on education and experience

Main Job Responsibilities for Lead Teachers:

• Prepare lesson plans that are developmentally appropriate one week in advance using current curriculum guides.


• Implement lesson plans/curriculum on a weekly basis covering all areas of child development and carry out lesson plans according to classroom schedule/daily routine; Use our parent communication efficiently.


• Establish a professional level of rapport with each family to provide quality care for the children.


• Responsible for the safety and well-being of each child, responding to their emotional needs; and maintaining an organized, clean, safe, and appropriately decorated classroom.


• Maintain a child assessment and portfolio for each child, as well as conduct biannual parent/teacher conferences during the month of November and May.


• Physical ability to work around small children including sitting, standing, walking, running, and climbing stairs.


• Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs. and fulfill all physical requirements of the role.


• Carry out the daily responsibilities of the classroom relating to the care of the children.
