Job summary

Tree of Knowledge is a licensed childcare center seeking an Early Childhood Lead Teacher to guide infant classrooms. You will plan developmentally appropriate lessons, ensure safety, and build strong relationships with families.

The role requires 18+, a high school diploma or GED, CDA or higher, and at least one year of experience with background checks clearing. The position is based on Monday–Friday with on-site work in Chattanooga, TN.

Qualifications

• Must be 18+ years old and able to pass background checks.
• High school diploma or GED; CDA or higher preferred.
• At least 1 year of experience in childcare.

Responsibilities

• Prepare developmentally appropriate weekly lesson plans using current curriculum guides.
• Implement weekly plans across all child development areas and communicate with families.
• Establish professional rapport with each family to provide quality care.
• Ensure safety and well-being of every child and maintain an organized, safe classroom.
• Maintain child assessments and portfolios; conduct parent/teacher conferences biannually.
• Assist with daily classroom routines; support active play and learning activities.
• Lift up to 40 lbs and fulfill all physical requirements of the role.

To be QUALIFIED for this position, we require candidates be 18+, have a high school diploma OR GED, CDA or higher, 1 year experience, and the ability to pass all background checks.

Required Shift: Monday - Friday, based on center needs

Compensation: $13-15/hour, based on education and experience

MainJob Responsibilities:

• Prepare lesson plans that are developmentally appropriate one week in advance using current curriculum guides.
• Implement lesson plans/curriculum on a weekly basis covering all areas of child development and carryout lesson plans according to classroom schedule/daily routine; Useour parent communication appefficiently.
• Establish a professional level of rapport with each family to provide quality care for the children.
• Responsible for the safety and well-being of each child, responding to their emotional needs; andmaintaining an organized, clean, safe, and appropriately decorated classroom.
• Maintaina child assessment and portfoliofor each child, as well as conduct biannual parent/teacher conferences during the month of November and May.
• Physical ability to work around small children including sitting, standing,walking,running,and climbing stairs.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs. and fulfill all physical requirements of the role.
• Carry out the daily responsibilities of the classroom relating to the care of the children.
