Job summary

Bedrock Academy is seeking an entry‑level Assistant Teacher to support our classroom team in a safe, engaging learning environment. You will assist daily activities, help bring the curriculum to life, and ensure active supervision for all children.

This role involves collaboration with the lead teacher, families, and school operations. The ideal candidate has a passion for early childhood education, is patient, dependable, and eager to learn.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required. Coursework or degree in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred.
  • Previous experience with young children in childcare/preschool setting preferred.
  • Basic understanding of classroom procedures; willingness to learn licensing requirements.
  • Must meet state requirements, CPR/First Aid where required, and complete background checks.
  • Effective communication and collaboration with children, families, and team members.

Responsibilities

  • Create a safe, nurturing, engaging classroom environment for children.
  • Assist daily activities and curriculum implementation with the lead teacher.
  • Provide active supervision and maintain required staff-to-child ratios.
  • Support children's development through positive guidance, interaction, and play.
  • Assist with routines, organization, and family communication; support school operations.

  • Always provide active supervision, ensuring safety and compliance with required ratios

  • Support children’s development through positive guidance, interaction, and play

  • Assistwith classroom routines, organization, and communication with families, while supporting overall school operations

Qualifications:

  • Effective communication skills and a collaborative approach to working with children, families, and team members.

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
