The Motion Recruitment Partners – A Kelly Company Field Talent Services (FTS) department consists of a team of Talent Advisors and Team Leads who specialize in the front end of the recruiting process. They are skilled experts in identifying, engaging, and screening talent within the technology market. The team is dedicated to building robust candidate pipelines and is organized into specialized sourcing teams that partner closely with full-desk recruiters across North America. Team Leads play a critical role in driving team performance, coaching Talent Advisors, and ensuring a consistent, high-quality flow of pre-qualified candidates to their full-desk partners.
As an FTS Team Lead, you will personally contribute to sourcing production while serving as the resident subject matter expert for your tech segment, mentoring your team on sourcing skills and best practices, and ensuring consistent pipeline output to your full-desk partners. You will not be responsible for account management or new business development.
RESPONSIBILITIES
As a FTS Team Lead, you will…
- Source candidates with relevant skillsets within your aligned tech segment using a variety of channels (e.g. open web, job board databases, LinkedIn, job posts, ATS archives, professional networks, forums, meetups, and more)
- Execute multi-channel outreach to prospective candidates — including initial contact, follow-up, and re-engagement — via phone, text, voicemail, email, and InMail
- Phone screen prospective candidates to assess qualifications, interest, and fit; collect ARPO and all relevant candidate information to share with designated full-desk team(s)
- Actively manage team candidate pipeline flow, overseeing ATS hygiene, req assignment, and timely submission of pre-screened candidates to full-desk partners
- Partner effectively with full-desk team(s) to ensure smooth candidate handoffs, maintaining clear communication on candidate status, availability, and pipeline health
- Maintain consistency in personal production, regularly meeting or exceeding KPIs, quality ratios, and impacting team results
- Research, gather, and share market-specific tech/candidate/hiring/industry trends
- Conduct individual reporting & analysis on all self-sourced candidate metrics, ratios, & rates
- Understand, apply & reinforce sourcing strategies and best practices as they pertain to the Sourcing Umbrella’s Identification (search, network, attract) and Engagement (outreach and interaction) approaches
- Recommend and reinforce existing/implement new (approved) sourcing strategies and best practices within technology segment
- Evaluate and optimize team’s sourcing channels strategy, overall job posting strategy (partner w/MES for best practices), and usage of all sourcing systems/platforms/tools
- Coach Talent Advisors on sourcing skills and best practices, advising peers as necessary on areas for improvement in the technical aspects of effective recruiting
- Lead training sessions in 1:1, team, segment, and company-wide settings
- Create and/or optimize company training materials
- Conduct 1:1 wrap-ups and goals meetings with designated Talent Advisors within team (progress review, diagnosis, goal setting)
- Participate in segment and departmental management meetings to evaluate staff production, skills attainment & application, and feedback
- Actively partner with Marketing department for cross-functional strategy ideation, creation and implementation

- Consider and offer new ideas or alternatives that result in continuous improvement in process and services, seeking and supporting new ways to improve process, products or services, and remaining adaptable to change
- Understand, adopt, and add insight to department initiatives and best practices, identifying opportunities to advance program and team, as well as effectively introducing and implementing initiatives and best practices as necessary
- Think both macro and micro level; seeing the big picture and strategizing accordingly, then formulating action plans to replicate success through diagnoses of data, processes, & individual learning styles
- Comprehend and communicate sourcing strategies such as lean recruitment, proactive + reactive sourcing, product-based sales, candidate-centricity + advocacy, talent community management, and more
- Reinforce clear work expectations, stretch goals and give direction as needed, assessing the performance of others honestly and objectively and providing timely, constructive feedback on technical and leadership skillsets
- Quickly gain knowledge or skill and apply it, demonstrating the ability to effectively design and deliver related training content and feedback, giving insightful diagnosis as needed
- Strategically leverage sourcing platforms based on prior knowledge of, and experience with, a comprehensive sourcing toolbelt (e.g. LinkedIn Recruiter, Monster, CareerBuilder, Indeed, ATS’s and more)
REQUIREMENTS
- 3+ years of experience in recruiting or talent sourcing, preferably in a staffing or RPO environment with a focus on tech/IT roles
- Demonstrated mastery of sourcing channels and tools — including LinkedIn Recruiter, job boards, ATS platforms, and open web sourcing — with strong Boolean search proficiency
- Proven track record of personal production in a high-volume sourcing environment, consistently meeting or exceeding KPIs and quality ratios
- Experience coaching, mentoring, or leading a team of recruiters or sourcers, with the ability to diagnose performance gaps and deliver actionable feedback
- Strong analytical mindset — able to identify patterns in sourcing data, evaluate funnel metrics, and adjust strategy accordingly
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to run training sessions, lead team meetings, and collaborate cross-functionally
- Highly organized and self-directed, with the ability to manage personal production and team oversight simultaneously in a fast‑paced, remote environment
COMPENSATION
- Base salary $70,304 for candidates based in California
- 2.5% commission on permanent placements
- 4% commission on contract placements
- Additional spot bonuses and incentives available
