Job summary

Roku seeks a Lead Systems Software Architect to drive the device platform strategy for Roku TVs and streaming devices. You will design, implement, and optimize system software across the full stack, ensuring security, performance, and reliability.

You will collaborate with SoC vendors, ODMs, and internal teams to take concepts to mass production. You will report to the VP of Software Engineering and mentor engineers, influencing platform APIs and debugging complex system issues.

Qualifications

• BS/MS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
• 15+ years in embedded systems software development, with multimedia products experience.
• Strong experience with embedded Linux/Android-based systems and C/C++.
• Experience collaborating with SoC vendors and ODM/OEM partners from design through mass production.

Responsibilities

• Own complex platform features end-to-end from design to bring-up and production support.
• Design and maintain core Roku OS platform software with emphasis on quality and maintainability.
• Lead hardware–software partitioning, APIs, and integration patterns for reliable device platforms.
• Drive performance, security, and scalability across Roku devices and generations.
