Job summary

Battelle in Columbus, OH seeks a Lead Systems Engineer to guide complex systems engineering efforts across architecture, requirements, verification, and test planning. You will direct cross-disciplinary teams, interact with clients, and ensure deliverables meet schedule and budget constraints.

Responsibilities include leading system integration, verification, and analysis, while providing technical leadership and producing high-quality documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 8+ years, master's with 5+ years, or PhD with relevant experience.
• Experience applying systems engineering methodologies across the full lifecycle.
• Experience decomposing, allocating, tracing, and verifying requirements (INCOSE/ISO/IEEE 15288/EARS).
• Experience leading system integration, verification, validation, and testing.
• Experience analyzing technical data to support engineering decisions.
• Strong written and verbal communication; leadership in multidisciplinary teams.
• US Citizenship with ability to obtain DoD Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical projects within larger programs delivering on time and on budget.
• Direct system architecture, interface definition, integration, verification, and test planning.
• Provide technical direction and coordinate engineers and staff.
• Analyze requirements and performance; develop technical alternatives.
• Build relationships with internal and external clients; present results.
• Lead quality-control reviews and prepare technical documents.
