Job summary

Escalon Services, Inc. is seeking a System Architect in Santa Monica to define and lead architectures for AI, XR, robotics platforms. You will bridge product vision with technical execution, ensuring reliable, maintainable systems built for growth.

The role requires 4+ years in architecture or leadership, with strong knowledge of distributed systems, cloud platforms, and API design. Collaboration across software, hardware, and product teams is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, software engineering, systems engineering, electrical engineering, or related field.
• 4+ years of experience in Systems Architecture, Software Architecture, or a technical leadership role.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems and scalable software design.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Experience designing APIs, microservices, and event-driven architectures.

Responsibilities

• Design end-to-end system architectures for complex software and hardware solutions.
• Define system requirements, interfaces, and technical specifications.
• Lead architectural decisions across distributed systems, cloud infrastructure, embedded systems, and AI applications.
• Collaborate with software, hardware, AI/ML, robotics, and product teams throughout the development lifecycle.
• Evaluate technologies, frameworks, and tools to ensure scalability, security, and performance.
• Establish architectural standards, design principles, and engineering best practices.
• Conduct architecture reviews and provide technical mentorship to engineering teams.
• Identify technical risks early and develop mitigation strategies.
• Support integration, testing, deployment, and long-term system evolution.
• Create and maintain technical documentation and architecture diagrams.
