Job summary

Escalon Services is seeking a Systems Architect in Santa Monica, CA. This full-time, on-site role will define and lead architectures for complex software and hardware across AI, XR, and robotics platforms.

You will collaborate with engineering leadership to ensure scalable, secure, and high-performance solutions aligned with the company roadmap. Strong distributed systems and cloud experience are essential, plus Agile collaboration and cross-functional mentorship.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in CS, Software/Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
• 4+ years in systems or software architecture or technical leadership.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/Google Cloud).
• Proficient in modern languages (C++, Python, Java, C#).
• Experience designing APIs, microservices, and event-driven architectures.
• Knowledge of networking, security, and systems integration.
• Experience in Agile environments.

Responsibilities

• Design end-to-end system architectures for software and hardware.
• Define system requirements, interfaces, and specifications.
• Lead decisions across distributed systems, cloud, embedded, and AI apps.
• Collaborate with software, hardware, AI/ML, robotics, and product teams.
• Evaluate technologies to ensure scalability, security, and performance.
• Establish architectural standards and best practices.
• Mentor engineering teams and drive architecture reviews.
• Identify risks and develop mitigation strategies.
• Support integration, testing, deployment, and evolution.
