equivant is hiring a Lead Systems Administrator to own the internal IT systems that the company runs on: migration to a new Microsoft 365 tenant, identity and access management (Okta and Microsoft Entra ID), and the Windows endpoint fleet. You will own corporate IT operations end to end and supervise the internal service desk. A defining project for this role is leading equivant’s migration onto its own Microsoft 365 tenant as the company separates from a shared parent-company environment.
Responsibilities
Own internal IT operations for equivant end to end. Lead the migration of equivant onto a dedicated Microsoft 365 tenant as the company separates from a shared parent-company tenant: plan the cutover, coordinate execution, and own the resulting environment. Administer the Microsoft 365 tenant, including Exchange Online, SharePoint and OneDrive, Teams, and licensing. Administer identity and access across Okta and Microsoft Entra ID, including single sign-on, multi-factor authentication, conditional access, and the joiner/mover/leaver lifecycle. Drive consolidation toward Okta as the target identity provider while operating the existing Entra ID estate through the transition. Manage the Windows endpoint fleet with Microsoft Intune, including provisioning, configuration, patching, and compliance baselines. Own service desk operations: ticket triage and resolution in Zendesk, employee onboarding and offboarding, and hardware asset lifecycle. Partner with technical services and security on the boundary between corporate IT and the hosted product environments. Coordinate with parent-company operating group staff during the decentralization, and manage vendor and licensing relationships. Support SOC 2 and CJIS Security Policy compliance from the corporate identity and endpoint side: access reviews, logging, endpoint hardening, and audit evidence. Coordinate change, incident, and request management through equivant’s ITSM processes (Zendesk and Jira); maintain runbooks and technical documentation. Participate in after-hours support for incidents as needed.
