Job summary

Primoris Pipeline is seeking a seasoned Party Chief to lead survey crews in the field, ensuring accurate and timely data collection for construction and engineering projects. You will supervise crew members, operate a range of survey instruments, and ensure compliance with project specifications and safety protocols.

You will also interpret plans, record precise field data, and coordinate with project managers and engineers.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of land surveying experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or Party Chief role.
• Proficient with total stations, robotic total stations, GPS/GNSS receivers and data collectors.
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans, blueprints and specifications.
• Excellent communication, leadership and interpersonal skills.
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
• OSHA 10 or 30‑hour certification preferred.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work extended field hours.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and direct survey crew members, assign tasks and ensure safety and productivity.
• Operate and maintain survey equipment (total stations, GPS, data collectors) and calibrate as needed.
• Perform field calculations and adjustments to verify data accuracy.
• Interpret plans and establish control points based on project specs.
• Record accurate field notes, measurements and sketches.
• Communicate project progress and data needs with managers and engineers.
• Uphold company safety policies and industry best practices.
• Assist in training junior survey crew members.
