Job summary

Westwood Professional Services, Inc. in Lansdale, PA is seeking a Survey Technician/Survey Crew Chief to support our Geospatial team with survey research, boundary surveys, and utility locates/SUE. This hybrid role combines fieldwork and office analysis.

The successful candidate will lead a survey crew, operate GPS and total stations, perform QA/QC, and coordinate with field crews and office staff while delivering accurate base maps and computations.

Qualifications

• Strong listening, writing, and verbal communication skills.
• Knowledge of topographic surveys and field crew prep.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks, support project coordination, and interact with other design services.
• Full use of Microsoft Office.
• Must be able to operate a total station and GPS in both static and RTK modes.

Responsibilities

• Limited Office: survey/utility research, boundary analysis, exhibit preparation, base map drafting, survey computations, and utility records research.
• Importing and analyzing field data.
• Perform QA/QC checks.
• Coordinate and work with field crews and office staff.
• Lead a survey crew and train/mentor crew members.
• Operate GPS, total stations, and data collectors.
• Transfer files between data collectors and internal project folders.
• Maintain productive relationships with clients and coworkers.
