Job summary

Knife River - South is seeking a lead surveyor to oversee staff, assign and monitor work, and direct surveying and layout operations on construction sites in Bryan, TX. The typical schedule is Monday–Friday 6:00 AM–6:00 PM with Saturday as needed; duties include data collection, stakeout, and setting reference points.

The role requires prior experience in construction surveying, knowledge of stakeout procedures, and proficiency with total station and GPS data collection.

Qualifications

• Prior experience on a construction surveying party.
• Thorough knowledge of residential and commercial stakeout procedures.
• Ability to perform field topographic, road frontage, and as-built surveys.

Responsibilities

• Determine distances, areas, and angles of projects.
• Establish horizontal/vertical control reference points.
• Set stakes and mark lines, grades, and points.
• Determine profiles for cuts, fills, and earthwork volumes.
• Layout structures, culverts, and bridge lines.
• Determine vertical/horizontal placement of utilities and roads.
• Record and store all data.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
