Job summary

Somerset County, NJ is seeking a Survey Supervisor to direct survey operations for county engineering and infrastructure projects. You will coordinate with engineers, consultants, and public agencies, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely project progression.

The role requires strong organizational and communication skills, with oversight of field crews and adherence to state regulations and county standards. A licensed surveyor is preferred.

Qualifications

• 5 years' supervisory experience in land surveying, civil engineering design, mapping, or related fields.
• Knowledge of State DOT and FHWA specifications related to transportation and infrastructure projects.
• Strong proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office Suite software.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise land surveying work for County engineering and infrastructure projects.
• Review survey data, mapping products, and construction documents for accuracy and compliance.
• Coordinate surveying services for civil design, mapping, and construction activities.
• Collaborate with engineers, consultants, and agencies to support planning and land development.
• Prepare and review technical reports, specifications, and project documentation.
• Oversee field survey crews and ensure safety practices are followed.
