Job summary

FlatironDragados in Dayton, OH is seeking a Survey Manager to lead survey teams across project sites, providing technical input on standards and land mapping. You will oversee field crews, coordinate with engineers and superintendents, and ensure accurate layout and measurement to meet project requirements.

Responsibilities include maintaining equipment, supervising budget and department resources, and delivering high-quality surveys and quantities for project planning and payments.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma / GED required.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, geometrics or related field preferred.
• 5+ years’ experience in survey or land mapping required.
• Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) preferred.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Proven leadership and management skills.
• Expert knowledge of land mapping and technical survey instrument techniques.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Provides work control lines and elevations for accurate measurement and installation by field staff.
• Ensures crews perform layout work competently and accurately.
• Checks as-built conditions requiring surveying techniques.
• Provides topographic and cross-section surveys for planning and payment quantities.
• Assists with conducting quantity calculations as required.
• Monitors and maintains surveying equipment condition and calibration.
• Coordinates survey activities with the engineer and superintendents to meet construction requirements.
• Manages survey department resources and assigned budget.
