  • Proficiency with Topographic, Boundary and ALTA/NSPS surveys.
  • Ability to interpret deeds, plats, legal descriptions, easements, and property records.
  • Hands-on with survey equipment (GPS, robotic total stations, data collectors, digital levels).

Job description

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Survey Project Manager to lead land surveying projects from initiation through completion. This full-time, on-site position is responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing all phases of survey projects while ensuring quality, accuracy, budget adherence, and timely delivery.

The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise in land surveying, proven leadership experience, and the ability to manage multiple projects while collaborating with field crews, office staff, clients, and project stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage multiple land surveying projects from planning through final deliverables.
  • Develop project schedules, budgets, staffing plans, and resource allocations.
  • Coordinate field and office survey teams to ensure efficient project execution.
  • Review project scope, contracts, specifications, and client requirements.
  • Oversee field operations and provide technical guidance to survey personnel.
  • Review and validate survey data, plats, maps, legal descriptions, and reports for accuracy and quality.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable surveying standards, regulations, and safety requirements.
  • Monitor project budgets, schedules, and overall performance to meet client expectations.
  • Communicate project status with clients, contractors, consultants, and internal stakeholders.
  • Resolve technical, scheduling, and operational challenges throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Mentor junior survey staff and support their professional development.
  • Identify opportunities to improve workflows, project efficiency, and quality control processes.
Required Qualifications
  • Strong experience in Land Surveying and Survey Project Management.
  • Proficiency with Topographic Surveys, Boundary Surveys, ALTA/NSPS surveys, and construction-related surveying.
  • Experience interpreting deeds, plats, legal descriptions, easements, and property records.
  • Working knowledge of Building Surveying and site documentation.
  • Hands-on experience with survey equipment including GPS, robotic total stations, data collectors, and digital levels.
  • Proficiency with CAD and survey software (such as AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation, Trimble Business Center, Carlson, or similar platforms).
  • Strong understanding of survey computations, coordinate systems, and quality assurance procedures.
  • Excellent project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and team leadership skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with clients and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
