GRAEF, a leading U.S. consulting firm, is seeking a Survey Crew Chief for our Milwaukee Headquarters. The role involves leading field surveys, supervising crews, and coordinating with engineers and clients to deliver accurate data.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years of field surveying experience, 1+ year as crew chief, and proficiency with GPS, robotic total stations, and AutoCAD/MicroStation. This is a primarily field-based role with some office work and a hybrid schedule.

Qualifications

• Degree in surveying, civil engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 3 years field surveying experience with at least 1 year as crew chief.
• Proficiency with GPS, robotic total stations, and related survey instruments.
• Experience with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation and Trimble Business Center.
• Ability to read construction plans and legal descriptions.

Responsibilities

• Lead a one-person survey crew and supervise multi-person crews on varied surveys.
• Operate and maintain GPS, robotic total stations, data collectors, and levels.
• Interpret project plans and control requirements to ensure accurate data.
• Record field notes, sketches, and digital data for office processing.
• Ensure crew safety per company and industry standards.
• Mentor crew members in field procedures and equipment use.
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and clients.
• Manage daily schedules, crew logistics, and field resources.
• Perform quality control checks for accuracy and completeness.
• Maintain survey vehicles and equipment in good working order.
