Job summary

Allegiance Group is seeking an experienced Survey Chief / Crew Lead to support its growing underground utility and civil infrastructure work. This hands-on role leads a survey crew on active construction sites, ensuring precise layout, elevations and alignment.

You will operate GPS/GNSS and robotic total stations, interpret drawings, coordinate with superintendents and VDC teams, and mentor field staff while maintaining accurate as-built records and safe practices around excavation.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Survey Party Chief or Crew Chief in construction.
• Strong construction layout background.
• Ability to run a survey crew and manage daily workloads.
• Proficiency with modern survey equipment and software.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day survey crew activities on sites.
• Perform staking and layout for utilities and site works.
• Establish survey control, benchmarks, lines, grades.
• Interpret drawings and design information for field layout.
• Operate GPS/GNSS, robotic total stations, levels, data collectors.
• Coordinate priorities with superintendents and VDC teams.
• Ensure accurate as-built data and maintain records.
• Mentor technicians and uphold safety around excavation.
