Allegiance Group is seeking an experienced Survey Chief / Crew Lead to support its growing underground utility and civil infrastructure work. This hands-on role leads a survey crew on active construction sites, ensuring precise layout, elevations and alignment.

You will operate GPS/GNSS and robotic total stations, interpret drawings, coordinate with superintendents and VDC teams, and mentor field staff while maintaining accurate as-built records and safe practices around excavation.

Qualificações

• Experience as a Survey Party Chief or Crew Chief in construction.
• Strong construction layout background.
• Ability to run a survey crew and manage daily workloads.
• Proficiency with modern survey equipment and software.

I’m partnering with a growing underground utility contractor looking to appoint an experienced Survey Chief / Crew Lead to support its expanding construction operations.

This is an excellent opportunity for a hands‑on survey professional who enjoys leading a crew, working closely with field teams and taking ownership of accurate construction layout.

You’ll support underground utility and infrastructure projects, including duct banks, conduit systems and manholes, helping ensure installations are delivered to the correct position, elevation and specification.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day survey crew activities across active construction sites.
• Perform construction staking and layout for underground utilities, structures and associated site works.
• Establish and verify survey control, benchmarks, lines and grades.
• Interpret construction drawings, coordinates and design information to deliver accurate field layout.
• Operate GPS/GNSS equipment, robotic total stations, levels and data collectors.
• Coordinate survey priorities with superintendents, project managers and VDC teams.
• Complete field checks and collect accurate as-built information.
• Maintain clear survey records and identify discrepancies before they affect installation.
• Mentor survey technicians and maintain safe working practices around excavation and heavy equipment.

What We’re Looking For

• Experience as a Survey Party Chief, Crew Chief or Survey Lead within construction.
• A strong background in construction layout, ideally covering underground utilities, civil infrastructure or site development.
• Confidence independently running a survey crew and managing daily workloads.
• Proficiency with modern survey equipment and field software.
• Strong understanding of coordinates, elevations, grades and construction drawings.
• An organised, detail-oriented approach and clear communication with field teams.
