Job summary

Colliers Engineering & Design in Massachusetts is seeking a Survey Crew Chief to lead field survey crews on boundary, topographic, construction, transportation, utility, and land development projects, mentoring junior staff and coordinating with project teams.

You will plan and execute surveys using GNSS/GPS, robotic total stations, data collectors and 3D scanners, ensure data accuracy, uphold safety standards, and serve as the primary field representative for clients across DOT, utilities and

Qualifications

• 5+ years of field survey experience with at least 2+ years as Crew Chief.
• Proficient with data collectors, total stations, and leveling.
• Experience with or readiness to learn 3D scanners.

Responsibilities

• Plan and perform advanced field surveys within project scope and budget.
• Interact with project site supervisors and client representatives.
• Prepare detailed field notes and reports timely.
• Perform in-field calculations for stakeout and land surveys.
• Review safety checklists and train crew on hazards and PPE.
• Maintain, transport, and operate surveying instruments and equipment.
• Operate company survey vehicle per policy.
• Mentor and train junior field staff for career advancement.
• Projects include DOT design/ROW surveys, utilities, 3D scanning, boundary and ALTA surveys.
