Job summary

HCA HealthONE Presbyterian St. Lukes is seeking a Lead Surgical Technologist to guide the OR team and ensure the safest, most advanced care. You will work with a highly experienced, collaborative surgical team to bring order, precision, and confidence to every procedure.

You will lead preparation, scrub with surgeons through complex cardiac cases, mentor others, and ensure infection prevention standards are met while supporting on-call and emergency cases.

Qualifications

• Basic Cardiac Life Support within 30 days of start date.
• (ST) Surgical Technologist credential.
• Associate Degree or Vocational School Graduate or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Lead surgical preparation by organizing suites, equipment and instruments for procedures.
• Scrub in and support surgeons through complex cardiac surgeries, maintaining a sterile field.
• Mentor surgical technologists and train new team members while reinforcing best practices.
• Oversee counts, handling of specimens and infection prevention standards for safety.
• Facilitate teamwork and efficiency, including on-call and emergency case support.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Leading surgical preparation by organizing suites, equipment, and instruments to ensure readiness for every procedure
• Scrubbing in and supporting surgeons through complex cardiac surgeries, anticipating needs and maintaining a safe, sterile environment
• Guiding and mentoring surgical technologists, serving as a role model while training new team members and reinforcing best practices
• Overseeing quality and safety by managing counts, handling specimens, and ensuring compliance with infection prevention standards
• Driving teamwork and efficiency through effective communication, rapid problem-solving, and support for on-call and emergency cases

What qualifications you will need:

• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
