Job summary

St. David’s HealthCare in Austin seeks a Lead Certified Surgical Technologist to lead the OR team, guide surgical staff, and ensure patients receive safe, advanced care. You’ll work with a skilled team, maintaining precision, sterility, and efficiency in the operating room.

You will mentor technologists, uphold infection prevention, and support on-call and complex cases to deliver high-quality patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• 4 years of recent experience as a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) with competency across inpatient/outpatient surgical specialties.
• Associates degree from an accredited Surgical Technologist program.
• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) and BLS certification per policy.

Responsibilities

• Lead surgical preparation by organizing suites, equipment, and instruments for each procedure.
• Scrub in and support surgeons through complex cardiac surgeries while maintaining a sterile environment.
• Mentor and train new team members, reinforcing best practices.
• Oversee counts, handle specimens, and ensure infection prevention standards.
• Drive teamwork and efficiency through clear communication and on-call support.
