Job summary

Barrios Technology in Houston seeks an experienced Quality Engineer IV to lead supplier quality assurance, procurement quality oversight, and supplier performance management in a dynamic aerospace environment.

You will develop and implement AS9100-based supplier quality processes, conduct audits, drive corrective actions, and partner with engineering and procurement to ensure a reliable, compliant supply chain across programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related technical discipline with 15 years in supplier quality roles.
• Thorough knowledge of AS9100 and related quality management systems.
• Experience conducting supplier audits, source inspections, and PPAP activities.
• Ability to review engineering drawings, contracts, and technical requirements.
• Strong communication, leadership, and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Proven track record driving corrective actions and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain supplier quality processes per AS9100 and contractual obligations.
• Manage supplier qualification, approval, and ongoing performance monitoring.
• Define, review, and approve flow-down requirements for purchased products.
• Conduct supplier audits, assessments, and surveillance for compliance.
• Perform source inspections and verification for purchased products.
• Review supplier documentation and quality data for compliance.
• Establish supplier quality KPIs and dashboards for leadership updates.
• Collaborate with suppliers to strengthen quality systems and drive corrective actions.
• Investigate supplier-related quality issues and coordinate containment and root cause analysis.
• Manage SCARs and verify effectiveness of corrective actions.
• Analyze nonconformance trends to identify risks and drive improvement.
• Develop and present supplier quality reports to program teams.
• Create and maintain quality procedures and process documentation.
• Support program execution by identifying quality risks and mitigation strategies.
• Communicate performance and project status to stakeholders.
• Lead strategic quality initiatives as assigned.
• Contribute to the enhancement of quality management systems.
