Job summary

NextGenEnergyJobs is seeking a Supplier Quality and Development Engineer to lead technical supplier interactions for Node hardware. Based in Portland, this on-site role demands hands-on quality assurance, supplier development, and close collaboration with engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain teams.

You will drive design-for-manufacturing reviews, select methods, define quality requirements, and apply APQP/PPAP/8D methods to ensure production readiness and scalable processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, quality, or a related STEM field.
• At least five years of experience in supplier quality, supplier development, manufacturing engineering, or related.
• Experience with ISO 9001, AS9100, or similar quality-management standards.
• Experience applying APQP, PPAP, FAIR, and 8D.
• Experience supporting new product development and production-part approval.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary technical contact for suppliers producing Node hardware.
• Lead supplier-quality and manufacturing-readiness activities for NPI.
• Develop scalable supplier-quality processes and communicate them across teams.
• Evaluate manufacturing methods and supplier capabilities for metal components.
• Conduct supplier audits and evaluations against quality-management standards.
