Job summary

PROENERGY is seeking a highly experienced Supplier Development and Quality Engineer to lead process control and supplier improvements for gas turbine engine components. You will act as the technical authority on supplier manufacturing processes, driving capability, defect prevention, and continuous improvement on external suppliers.

The role requires extensive shop-floor presence, strong program management, and the ability to collaborate across Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, and Supply

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical discipline.
• 5+ years of manufacturing engineering, supplier development, supplier quality, or quality engineering experience.
• Strong knowledge of GD&T, process capability, manufacturing processes, and quality systems.
• Experience working in ISO 9001, AS9100, NADCAP, or similar environments.
• Travel Requirement: Approximately 50-60% domestic and international travel to supplier facilities.
• Must be fluent in English, with strong speaking, reading, writing, and comprehension skills.
• US work authorization is a precondition of employment; sponsorship not offered.

Responsibilities

• Ensure supplier products and services comply with aerospace, customer, engineering, regulatory, and quality management system requirements.
• Lead supplier manufacturing process development, qualification, validation, and approval activities while maintaining program timelines.
• Evaluate and assess machining, fabrication, welding, casting, forging, coating, heat treatment, assembly, NDT, and other special processes.
• Conduct supplier qualification audits, process audits, surveillance activities, readiness reviews, capability evaluations, and risk assessments.
• Review and approve manufacturing plans, process flows, control plans, inspection plans, and FAIRs.
• Monitor supplier compliance with approved manufacturing processes, traceability, configuration management, and quality standards.
• Lead investigations of supplier nonconformances, quality escapes, and supplier performance issues using root cause analysis and 8D methodologies.
• Manage SCARs and verify effectiveness of corrective actions.
• Support supplier change management related to materials, tooling, equipment, methods, and sub‑tier suppliers.
• Manage supplier scorecards, KPIs, and performance monitoring systems.
• Drive supplier performance improvement, process control, defect prevention, continuous improvement, and recovery initiatives.
• Partner with Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, Operations, and Supply Chain teams to resolve supplier issues.
