Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Supplier Development Engineer (Mechanical Engineering) to drive manufacturing quality and supplier readiness for Starship components. You will own new part introductions, define manufacturability, and work with suppliers to meet aggressive takt times.

The role demands hands-on manufacturing/inspection experience, GD&T skills, and a strong drive to push technical boundaries. Occasional travel and extended hours are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering required.
• 1+ years of manufacturing and/or inspection experience in production.
• Experience with quality systems and PPAP processes is a plus.
• Familiarity with GD&T and engineering drawings.

Responsibilities

• Serve as technical contact for rocket parts and assemblies, addressing supplier challenges.
• Own new product introductions and ramp-to-rate processes.
• Conduct DFM reviews to ensure manufacturability early.
• Collaborate with procurement to qualify suppliers and meet takt times.
• Create specifications to flow down quality and manufacturing requirements.
