Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Lead Supplier Development Engineer (Starlink) in Redmond, WA to build and mentor a team that sources high-performance suppliers for electronics hardware. You will drive PPAP, supplier quality improvements, and manufacturing process development across engineering, supply chain, and operations.

You will partner with cross-functional teams to reduce defects, improve yield, and ensure on-time delivery while aligning with SpaceX quality policies and long-term strategic goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline and 3+ years in engineering, supply chain, or quality roles.
• Experience with PCB fabrication, SMT, electronics manufacturing, and qualification.
• Lean/Six Sigma or similar training/experience.
• Willingness to travel up to 60% and onsite work in Redmond, WA.

Responsibilities

• Develop a team responsible for creating high-performing suppliers for Starlink hardware.
• Lead supplier audits to ensure part performance, delivery, and reliability expectations.
• Drive supplier development and manufacturing process improvements across design, manufacturing, and quality.
• Implement PPAP for hardware production qualification and analyze supplier quality data.
• Coordinate issue resolution, MRB activities, root-cause analysis, and corrective actions.
• Advise on Design for Manufacturing (DFM) feedback and drive manufacturability improvements.
• Mentor engineers and build cross-functional partnerships to reduce vendor defects.
